Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to fix them.
No sources available
Yokai ships with zero built-in sources. You need to add an extension repository first. Go to Browse → Extensions → Repos and add a repo URL. See the Setup Guide for details.
CloudFlare "Checking your browser" page
Some manga sources use CloudFlare protection. When you encounter a CloudFlare challenge:
- Tap on a manga from the source — the app opens a WebView.
- Solve the challenge (usually just wait a few seconds).
- The cookie is saved and future requests work automatically.
If the challenge keeps appearing, try clearing the WebView cookies from Settings → Advanced → Clear WebView cookies.
Extension not loading / HTTP errors
- Check your internet connection.
- Try updating the extension — the source website may have changed its layout.
- Check if the source website is down by visiting it in a browser.
- Some sources are region-locked. Try a VPN if you suspect this.
App crashes on launch
- Make sure you're on Android 8.0 or newer.
- Try clearing the app data: Android Settings → Apps → Yokai → Clear Data.
- Download and install the latest version from the product page.
Images not loading
- Check your internet connection.
- Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Clear the image cache: Settings → Advanced → Clear image cache.
- Some sources throttle image requests. Wait a moment and try again.
Auto-scroll not working
Auto-scroll only works in the webtoon / continuous vertical reader mode. If you're reading in paged mode (LTR or RTL), switch to webtoon mode from the reader settings menu.
Backup import fails
- Make sure the backup file is from Tachiyomi, Mihon, or Yokai.
- The backup file should be a
.tachibkor.proto.gzfile. - If the backup is very large, it may take a minute to process.
- After restoring, you need to reinstall the source extensions from a repo.
