Setup Guide

Install Blueth Yokai and start reading manga in under a minute.

1. Download the APK

Download the latest APK from the product page or directly from GitHub Releases. The Universal build works on all devices. If you want a smaller APK, pick the architecture that matches your phone (ARM64 for most modern phones).

2. Install

Open the downloaded APK and follow the Android prompts to install. You may need to enable "Install from unknown sources" in your phone's settings for the browser or file manager you used to download.

3. Age Verification

On first launch, Yokai shows an age verification screen. You must confirm you are 18 years or older and accept the Terms of Use to continue. Some community extension repos include sources that serve adult content.

4. Add an Extension Repository

After age verification, the app asks you to add a community extension repository. This is how you get manga sources — the app ships with zero sources built in.

  1. Find a repo URL from a community wiki (e.g. wotaku.wiki).
  2. Paste the URL into the text field.
  3. Tap "Add".

You can add multiple repos. Each repo provides a different set of source extensions.

5. Install Extensions

After adding a repo, go to Browse → Extensions. You'll see a list of available source extensions from your repos. Tap "Install" on the ones you want. Extensions install in seconds.

6. Start Reading

Go to Browse, pick an installed source, search for a title, and start reading. That's it.

Updating

Yokai includes a built-in auto-updater. When a new version is available, you'll see a notification. You can also manually check for updates from Settings → About.

Importing from Tachiyomi / Mihon

Go to Settings → Data and Storage → Restore Backup and select your Tachiyomi or Mihon backup file. Your library, reading history, categories, and tracking data will carry over. You'll need to reinstall the same source extensions from a repo.
