Extensions
How extension repositories work in Blueth Yokai.
What Are Extensions?
Extensions are small packages that connect Yokai to manga sources on the internet. Each extension supports one source website or service. Yokai itself does not host or distribute any manga content — extensions are maintained independently by community developers.
What Are Extension Repos?
An extension repository is a URL that points to a collection of extensions. Community members maintain these repos and publish new or updated extensions to them. Yokai downloads extension lists from these URLs so you can browse and install sources.
Yokai ships with zero built-in sources and zero built-in repos. You add repos yourself during the onboarding flow or later from Browse → Extensions → Repos.
Finding Repos
Community wikis like wotaku.wiki maintain lists of known extension repositories. We do not endorse or control any third-party repo. Use repos from sources you trust.
Installing Extensions
- Open Browse → Extensions.
- You'll see extensions grouped by language and source.
- Tap Install on any extension you want.
- The extension downloads and installs in seconds.
- Go back to Browse — the source now appears in your list.
Updating Extensions
When an extension has an update available, you'll see an "Update" button next to it in the Extensions list. Tap to update. You can also tap "Update All" at the top to update all extensions at once.
Removing Extensions
Long-press an installed extension and tap "Uninstall". This removes the source from your Browse list. Your library entries from that source will remain but won't be able to fetch new chapters until you reinstall the extension.
Extension Compatibility
Yokai uses the same extension format as Mihon and Tachiyomi. Extensions built for those apps work in Yokai — same repos, same sources, same ecosystem.
NSFW Extensions
Some extension repos include sources that serve adult content. NSFW source visibility can be toggled in Settings → Browse → Show NSFW sources. This toggle is off by default.
